Job Title
Provides instruction and strategies within a variety of settings to address the academic and emotional needs of students.
Leads an educational program for students in an environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establishes effective rapport with students to promote positive attitudes of self-worth; motivates students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for further participation in the total school program, in accordance with each student's ability; establishes good relationships with parents and with other staff members.
Minimum Qualifications- Credential
- Valid/active Indiana Teaching License with Mild Interventions - Experience
- Experience working with elementary school students, as well as endorsements in K-4 content preferred - Education
- Bachelor's degree, including all courses needed to meet credential requirements - Personal Qualities
- Highly recommended from student teaching supervisors or other professionals who have observed the personal characteristics, scholastic attainment, and classroom performance of the teacher - Understanding of state and federal regulations and laws serving individuals with disabilities (i.e. Article 7, IDEA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the ADA, etc.)
- Demonstrate interpersonal skills necessary to deal tactfully and effectively with persons at all levels in order to develop and maintain productive relationships with all publics
- Ability to learn new skills quickly and assimilate into daily work
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality both inside and outside the corporation
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to multi-task with attention to detail
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changes of the normal day and expectations
- Proficiency in the use of technology for instruction and record keeping
- Proficiency in the use of and the ability to learn required instructional software, (i.e. Microsoft Office, Canvas, Skyward, Google Docs)
- Demonstrate organizational and time management skills
- Perform all other duties as assigned by immediate supervisors and district administrators
