Precision Machine Operator (Day Shift)

Urschel, a 100% employee‑owned company, has an opening for a Precision Machine Operator for our day shift operations in the Milling department. This position is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, and may require working on Saturday based on workloads.

Urschel employee‑owners design and manufacture industrial cutting equipment for food processing and allied industries around the world from our global headquarters located in Chesterton, Indiana, U.S.A. Consumers purchase goods manufactured on Urschel cutting equipment on a daily basis. Advanced manufacturing technologies are utilized at our climate controlled, clean, and environmentally conscious facility.

Starting pay is $29.18/hour

Operating machine tools including, but not limited to, manual or CNC machine tools and ancillary equipment to machine parts from castings, forgings, fabricated parts, and bar stock. Using various types of precision measuring instruments and gaging to verify and document inspections. Performs all necessary tasks required to complete the process.

Minimum of one year work experience in a manufacturing environment with a high school diploma or equivalent. Ability to interpret engineering prints and job notes, perform a variety of machining operations to close and interrelated tolerances, repetitively load and unload parts into machine(s), inspect and document tolerances from engineering prints throughout entire part run, thoroughly clean and deburr parts according to Urschel specification, and perform any other necessary task to complete the manufacturing process.

Physical demands include continuous durations of standing, frequent durations of walking, wrist movement, forearm rotation, and use of vibratory tools.
