Substitute Nursing Position
This is a substitute nursing position throughout the Duneland School Corporation. This substitute position will be responsible for providing quality professional nursing services at various school building(s). This position requires the person to be very flexible in accepting assigned tasks by their supervisor with a strong sense of teamwork needed. This position will deal with community members, parents, students and staff on a regular basis and will be expected to interact with these publics in a professional, friendly, and organized manner.
Pay rate: $20.00/hour.
The state requires you must be an Indiana licensed nurse (RN or LPN). Must possess a strong academic background in health services and health education. Must be knowledgeable of the changing growth and behavioral health patterns and how such changes affect children at all age levels.
Principal Responsibilities And Duties- Performs professional nursing duties according to the standards set by the National Association of School Nurses, the Indiana Standards for School Nursing Practice and the Indiana State Board of Nursing.
- Provides nursing care for ill or injured students and staff.
- Answer questions and requests via phone, email and in person.
- Adheres to infection control policies and procedures, and utilizes personal protective measures.
- Serves as a resource to the classroom teacher in health instruction.
- Prepare and maintain reports as directed by the supervisor/principal.
- Adheres to current standing orders for health services protocols.
- Assist where needed as directed by district administrators.
- Assists parents with referral to obtain needing medical care for their student when requested by parent.
- Completes accident and workman compensation reports including appropriate referral and follow-up.
- Other duties as directed by the Principal, Supervisor, Superintendent and/or designee.
