We have an exciting opportunity for a Community Nurse Educator to join our North Alliance community nursing teams. We seek a dynamic District Nurse who can provide robust clinical leadership to support safe and effective care for our valued service users and help shape the future of community nursing.

As a pivotal member of our community nursing team, you will instill a culture of continuous learning. By collaborating closely with the leadership team and fellow nurse educators, you will maximise learning and development opportunities across our diverse portfolio.

The successful candidate will share clinical knowledge and expertise while providing group supervision to nurses within the community nursing team. Utilizing case studies derived from previous incidents and evidence, you will contribute to a rich learning environment.

You will be highly motivated and enthusiastic, equipped with excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills. Your ability to question and challenge existing practices will drive our commitment to continuous improvement.

Your impact extends beyond our team to collaboration with the clinical training unit. Liaising with the training team, you will ensure our workforce stays ahead of the curve, possessing the knowledge and skills needed to meet evolving demands and embrace new technologies and procedures.

• Embed a learning culture across the community nursing service, working closely with the leadership team and other nurse educators to ensure learning and development opportunities are maximised across all community nursing portfolios.
• Share clinical knowledge, expertise and advice, and provide group supervision to pre‑ and post‑registration nurses using case studies to learn from incidents, complaints, investigations and new evidence.
• Ensure robust business continuity plans are in place and contribute to service delivery to maintain continuity of care.
• Work closely with other MPFT services and external partners to develop and deliver effective care pathways, liaising with the clinical training team to provide the workforce with the appropriate knowledge, skills and access to training to meet changing demands and emerging technologies or procedures.
• Coordinate access to formal training programmes with the leadership team and clinical training team, act as a named mentor for specialist practice students and provide group supervision to cohorts on degree pathways (e.g., enhanced clinical practice, specialist practice) to ensure clear links between taught courses and clinical practice.

We have around 9,000 staff who provide physical and mental healthcare, support for people with learning disabilities, and adult social care across Staffordshire, Stoke‑on‑Trent, Shropshire, and Telford & Wrekin. We also deliver regional and national services, including perinatal care, eating disorders, forensic services, sexual health, and support for people in prison with mental health, drug or alcohol problems.

This role is open to a Registered Nurse with the Specialist Practice qualification in District Nursing.

• Bachelor’s degree (Masters Level)
• Current NMC registration
• V300 Independent Nurse Prescribing (or working towards)
• Specialist Practice Qualification District Nursing
• Registered Mentor/Assessor
• Teaching qualification

• Experience of developing and delivering training using a variety of methods
• Experience of assessment and management of people with long‑term conditions & complex physical health needs
• Quality Improvement experience
