Production Technician – Press Operator (1st Shift)

Salary Range17–$19 per hour, non‑exempt, with opportunities for overtime, holiday, and shift differential pay.
Position SummaryTo manufacture and package spin disks using various machines while following the assigned work schedule.
Duties / Responsibilities- Operate and maintain all manufacturing equipment with proper training.
- Maintain and record accurate records including machine performance and product samples.
- Assist in daily equipment setup for any machine as needed.
- Attend and participate in designated shift huddles.
- Ensure production rates and quality standards are met and address any issues impeding progress.
- Transport product using pallet jacks and carts.
- High school diploma or equivalent; high school chemistry or general chemical handling experience preferred.
- Good mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Good judgment, decision‑making, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills; required to communicate with production personnel, R&D, and QC.
- Focused on tasks, not easily distracted.
- Ability to wear chemical cartridge respirator or equivalent.
- Must be able to transport up to 40 lbs (20 kg).
- Participate in lean activities such as lean training, kaizen, or 5‑day events.
- Perform 5‑S program in department or other assigned areas.
- Apply DMAICs to improve department and individual efficiencies.
- Complete monthly safety observations.
- Notify supervisors/ managers of any production, equipment, safety, or personnel problems and cooperate in resolving such issues.
- Provide feedback to supervisors/ managers to determine additional training needs and obtain training as necessary.
- Assist in other department activities as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all company policies (e.g., personnel, safety).
- Work indoors in a humidity and temperature‑controlled environment.
- Requires walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, reaching, climbing step ladders, transporting up to 40 lbs, handling loaded pallet jacks and operating various equipment.
- Requires mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, communication, judgment, decision making and troubleshooting skills, ability to multitask and attention to detail.
1st Shift, Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
