Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)Requirements & Responsibilities
- ANursingdegreefromanaccreditedcollegeoruniversity.
- Currentunrestrictedlicenseasa Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) inpracticingstate.
- Current
CPR certification. - Directsthedailyactivitiesofthegeriatricnursingassistantsbycurrentfederal,stateandlocalregulationsandguidelinesandestablishedfacilitypoliciesandprocedures.
- Followsthenursingmodeltopromoteholisticcarefortheresidents.
- Participatesintheadmission,discharge,andtransfersofresidentsasrequired.
- Assessesforchangesinresidents’status,notifyingthephysicianandresident’sfamilyorrepresentativeanddocumentingaccordingly.
- Transcribesphysicianorderstomedicalrecordandcarriesoutordersaswritten.
- Preparesandadministersmedicationsasperphysicians’ordersandobservesforadverseeffectsasindicated.
- Performswoundtreatmentsasperphysicians’orders,observesforchangesanddocumentsaccordinglyasindicated.
