Accountant, Financial Reporting, Accounting Manager

We are seeking an Accounting Consultant to support core accounting operations, billing, reconciliations, and month‑end close activities. This individual will serve as a key contributor to our client’s accounting team and must be capable of independently managing accounting processes from start to finish with minimal oversight.

The ideal candidate is highly detail‑oriented, possesses a strong general ledger accounting foundation, and thrives in an environment that requires ownership, analytical thinking, and a high degree of accuracy.

• Support and manage project‑based time tracking and related billing activities.
• Assist with billing operations and ensure accurate recording of transactions within the general ledger.
• Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure all balances are properly supported.
• Support month‑end close activities, including preparation of close workbooks, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Work within a fast‑paced accounting environment operating on a condensed 2.5‑day month‑end close timeline.
• Ensure transactions are properly allocated across approximately 20 separate funds and accurately reflected in the appropriate financial statements.
• Perform detailed financial analysis and reconciliation work using advanced Excel functionality.
• Assist with first‑level review of accounting work and supporting documentation prior to management review.
• Identify process improvements and proactively drive issues through resolution.
• Partner closely with accounting leadership while maintaining ownership of assigned responsibilities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• CPA or CPA‑track candidate preferred.
• Strong general ledger accounting and reconciliation experience.
• Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of accounting processes.
• Advanced Excel skills required, including experience working with large data sets, reconciliations, Pivot Tables, lookups, and financial analysis.
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience supporting month‑end close in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience with fund accounting or multi‑entity accounting environments is a plus.
