Compensation: $170,000-$190,000

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is conducting a search for an experienced Controller on behalf of a well-established government contractor with over $150M in annual revenue and 600+ employees. This is a highly visible role and works directly with senior leadership. This role is expected to be onsite 5 days a week with the potential for 1 day remote over time.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Direct all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, treasury, and financial reporting.
- Lead and develop a team of approximately 10-12 accounting professionals.
- Oversee month-end close, financial statement preparation, and management reporting.
- Perform and review monthly balance sheet account analyses.
- Prepare and review cash, AP discount, and capitalization reports.
- Review and approve applications for new credit arrangements.
- File necessary returns quarterly for federal fuel credits.
- Manage audit, tax, compliance, and internal control activities.
- Assist with the preparation of Branch financial analyses as well as internal audits of the Branches as needed.
- Supervise/handle international payroll/correspondence and audits.
- Perform financial analysis and provide reporting and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Drive process improvements and ensure adherence to government contracting regulations and accounting standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
- Prior Controller experience within a government contracting environment.
- Strong knowledge of FAR, CAS, DCAA compliance, and government contract accounting.
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint, JAMIS, or similar government contracting ERP systems.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
