We are a fee‑for‑service, boutique periodontal practice located in the heart of Chevy Chase, MD. Dr. Eugenia Prokopets is a board‑certified periodontal microsurgeon looking for a stellar surgical assistant to work alongside her. The team values exceptional patient care and is customer‑service oriented. As a Periodontal Surgical Assistant you will support periodontal procedures and cosmetic treatments. You will work closely with the periodontist and clinical team to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care, blending surgical expertise, customer service, and cosmetic awareness.

Surgical Assisting:

• Assist the periodontist during surgical procedures including extractions, implant placements, soft tissue grafting, osseous surgery, crown lengthening, biopsies, and sinus lifts.
• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and dental operatories.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures.
• Assist with microsurgery and develop proficiency using the microscope.
• Perform phlebotomy for L‑PRF preparation.

Cosmetic Procedures:

• Assist the doctor with Botox and filler treatments.
• Maintain proper stock of cosmetic supplies and materials.
• Educate patients on post‑treatment care for cosmetic procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for surgical and cosmetic procedures.
• Review medical history and obtain vitals.
• Assist with clinical photography.
• Maintain patient records and update treatment plans as needed.
• Provide pre‑ and post‑operative instructions and follow‑up care guidelines.

Radiographic Imaging:

• Capture and process digital radiographs for treatment planning.
• Ensure accuracy and clarity of imaging for diagnostic purposes.
• Capture CBCT images.
• Understand basic CBCT implant planning.

Infection Control:

• Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment.
• Monitor and manage sterilization and maintenance of instruments.
• Maintain OSHA standards at all times.
• Welcome patients warmly and ensure a friendly front‑desk environment.
• Efficiently manage patient check‑ins and check‑outs, providing necessary forms and information.

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent certification.
• Previous experience in a surgical or periodontal setting is preferred.
• Proficient in dental radiology with Maryland radiology license.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

$26.00 – $33.00 per hour.

Eugenia Prokopets, DDS, MSD, is a board‑certified periodontist and dental implant specialist who uses minimally invasive techniques to improve patient outcomes. She completed a three‑year residency and a Master’s degree in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at Louisiana State University. Dr. Prokopets’ training includes esthetic implant surgery, esthetic gum grafting, microsurgery, and full‑mouth implant rehabilitation. She is the only periodontist in the Washington DC area providing IV sedation for dental anxiety and performing microsurgery with a specialized microscope in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC.
