The Opportunity

Concord Hill School is seeking a warm, creative, and collaborative educator to join our faculty as an Early Childhood Teacher and/or STEM Specialist
. We are flexible in how we structure this opportunity and are open to hiring one full-time educator or two part-time educators
, depending on candidates’ experience and interests.
While we are eager to welcome someone as soon as possible, we are flexible on the start date for the right candidate.

Early Childhood Teacher / STEM Specialist

Monday-Friday | Approximately 8:00 a.m.

-12:30 p.m.

This role combines leadership of Concord Cubs, our caregiver-and-child program for children ages 18-30 months,
with STEM instruction for Preprimary (3s), Primary (4s), and Kindergarten.

The Early Childhood Teacher / STEM Specialist will:

  • Design and lead a joyful, developmentally appropriate Cubs program rooted in play, storytelling, art, movement, object-based learning, and hands‑on exploration.
  • Build warm connections with caregivers and support their understanding of children’s learning and development.
  • Plan and facilitate engaging, developmentally appropriate STEM experiences for students in Preprimary through Kindergarten.
  • Invite children to observe, wonder, investigate, build, test, compare, problem‑solve, and make discoveries through hands‑on experiences.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to connect STEM experiences with children’s questions, interests, and classroom learning.
Elementary STEM Specialist, Grades 1-3

Monday-Friday | Approximately 12:30‑4:00 p.m.

Our STEM program invites children to approach the world as scientists, engineers, designers, and problem‑solvers. Concord Hill uses Engineering is Elementary and Smithsonian Science for the Classroom as curricular resources.

The STEM Specialist will:

  • Plan and facilitate engaging, hands‑on STEM experiences for students in Grades 1-3.
  • Implement and thoughtfully adapt our science and engineering curricula to meet students’ developmental needs and interests.
  • Engage students in scientific inquiry, engineering design, experimentation, building, and collaborative problem‑solving.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to connect STEM learning across the curriculum.

For the right candidate, these roles may be combined into one full‑time position.

Position Details

Start Date: As soon as possible, with flexibility for the right candidate
Early Childhood Teacher / STEM Specialist: Monday‑Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m.

-12:30 p.m.
Elementary STEM Specialist: Monday‑Friday, approximately 12:30‑4:00 p.m.
Combined Position: Full‑time

Salary: $36,000-$78,000
, depending on role configuration, experience, education, and responsibilities.
