The Transmission Manager will lead Blue Energy’s transmission strategy across multiple U.S. power markets, supporting the successful development of nuclear power projects. This role requires deep expertise in generation and load interconnection processes, grid power flow analysis, and transmission constraints in both RTO/ISO markets (including PJM, ERCOT, MISO, NYISO), SERC, and vertically integrated utility territories. The individual will serve as the company’s subject matter expert on load and generation transmission and interconnection, guiding project siting, development strategy, and regulatory engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Blue Energy’s transmission and interconnection strategy across the U.S.
- Help screen development sites to assess costs and interconnection and deliverability feasibility of generation, and potential co‑located data center loads
- Manage, negotiate, and navigate interconnection queue processes and agreements, including technical, procedural, and commercial aspects and alignment with EPC and project teams
- Analyze grid power flows, constraints, and upgrade requirements to inform project siting and development.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align transmission insights with project development, permitting, and commercial strategies.
- Engage with RTOs, utilities, and regulators to advocate for project needs and ensure timely interconnection outcomes.
- Track and interpret transmission policy developments, market rule changes, and interconnection reforms.
- Build and manage external relationships with consultants, transmission planners, and engineering firms.
- Represent Blue Energy as a thought leader and subject matter expert on transmission with customers and in industry forums, working groups, and stakeholder processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
