- Participate in meetings with private equity sponsors and borrowers to develop an understanding of a company
- Review confidential investment memorandums, management/lender presentations, and other documents
- Evaluate senior financing requests to determine credit quality and appropriate loan structures
- Identify transaction merits, risks, and mitigants; perform market, industry, and sponsor due diligence
- Lead due diligence on loan and investment opportunities with a Managing Director
- Create investment theses and make investment recommendations to the Managing Director
- Advocate for and present deals to the Bank’s Officers Loan Committee
- Construct and maintain detailed financial models, develop sensitivity analyses, generate internal approval memoranda, and draft term sheets
- Assist with origination activity through closing of new transactions
- Monitor and enforce loan agreement terms with the portfolio management team
- Maintain ongoing relationships with borrowing clients
- Coordinate investment closings with the Bank’s operations team
- Supervise assigned employees and monitor work progress
- Recruit, select, orient, and train employees
- Manage employee performance through development, coaching, and counseling
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Associate’s Degree required;
Bachelor's Degree preferred - 8 years minimum of overall relevant financial services, investment banking or lending experience required; 5-6 years of Fund/Lender Finance experience strongly preferred
- Minimum of 1 year in a manager role preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Outstanding problem-solving and time management skills
- Self-motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented
- Adaptable and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Can work independently and within a team; solution-oriented with a collaborative approach
- Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including financial modeling in lender/structured finance
- Strong financial statement analysis skills with a firm grasp of accounting and finance matters
Demonstrates expertise in financial modeling, credit analysis, and investment evaluation, with a strong focus on managing relationships and leading teams in a fast-paced financial services environment.
