AI Enablement Lead

HHMI is focused on supporting and moving science forward in a variety of ways ranging from conducting basic biomedical research, empowering educators, inspiring students, developing the next generation of scientists – even stretching into film and media production. This role sits at the center of how HHMIturns AI access into AI capability. As the AI Enablement Lead, you will serve as HHMI’s enterprise product expert and central coordination point for Claude’s suite of AI tools. You will lead the Institute’s enablement, support, and adoption efforts across Janelia Research Campus and Headquarters, ensuring employees can use Claude confidently, safely, and effectively in their day-to-day work.

You will actively shape how Claude is used across the organization. You will translate product releases into practical guidance. You will convert recurring friction into scalable resources. You will partner with IT, governance, and vendor stakeholders to ensure alignment and responsible implementation. This role reports to the Director, AI Enablement within the Everyday

AI Accelerator team in the Office of the President, and supports both Janelia Research Campus and Headquarters. This person will follow a hybrid working arrangement.

This role serves as the enablement and coordination backbone for Claude  providing trusted expertise, structured adoption, and coordinated routing across IT, governance, and Anthropic, this role turns tool access into sustained organizational capability.

This role is well-suited for someone who takes pride in being the person others rely on. You are comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where features evolve and use cases are still emerging. You build deep product knowledge, explore new releases early, and develop practical judgment about where capabilities add value. That clarity is why others trust your guidance. You are equally effective with beginners and experienced users, adjusting your approach to support everything from prompting fundamentals to advanced Cowork workflows.

You are proactive, organized, and steady. You host office hours, share practical resources, track issues through resolution, and keep documentation current. You identify patterns in recurring friction and build scalable solutions that improve the experience for everyone.

• Serve as the central intake and coordination point for all Claude-related requests across HHMI, including triage, routing, escalation, and resolution tracking.
• Lead Institute-wide onboarding and structured enablement programs, including foundational prompting, advanced workflows, office hours, and targeted outreach to sustain adoption momentum.
• Track adoption and utilization trends, identify underuse patterns, and implement targeted interventions to increase measurable impact.

• Troubleshoot across Claude surfaces and approved connectors using a structured diagnostic approach, escalating to IT, governance, or Anthropic as appropriate.
