We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic and collaborative environment in Bethesda, MD. At River Hawk, you’ll play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing our software applications. You will mentor junior developers, contribute to architectural decisions, and drive best practices in software development. • Lead design and development of scalable applications using JavaScript and Python.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architecture and solutions.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues, optimizing performance.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

• Education in computer science, computer engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on JavaScript and Python.
• Extensive experience in databases (SQL or No
  
  SQL) and RESTful APIs.
• Experience in version control systems (git).
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalability principles.
• Experience with Jenkins or similar frameworks, containerization technologies (Podman, Docker), and container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS).
• Familiar with setting up CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

• Experience with Node.js.
• Experience with React.js or Preact.js.
• Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Experience with Dev Ops practices and tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform.
