Commitment to Work‑Life Balance- Professional staff members typically work 2,080 or 2,200 hour contracts or less.
- Offices are usually closed on Fridays from May through November, providing three‑day weekends in the summer and fall.
- Flexible work arrangements, no mandatory Saturday work.
- No overnight or long‑distance travel; travel between our three office locations is encouraged.
- Manage client engagements from start to finish, organizing, leading, and completing tax projects to deliver valuable results for both client and firm.
- Develop and execute tax‑planning techniques tailored to client needs.
- Identify and pursue new service opportunities with current and prospective clients.
- Research tax laws and prepare technical memorandums on tax issues.
- Communicate effectively, ensuring clear understanding of execution requirements.
- Organize and prioritize daily tasks to meet deadlines and complete work accurately.
- Supervise associates and senior associates, providing leadership, counseling, and career guidance.
- Participate in mentoring, training, recruiting, retention, and team‑building activities.
- Develop and present internal trainings and seminars on technical issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s preferred).
- 4+ years of recent public tax accounting experience.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Hands‑on experience preparing all forms and schedules for corporations, partnerships, individuals, trusts, and estates.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous projects in a fast‑paced, interactive team environment.
- Experience with state and local taxation, including sales & use, personal & real property, franchise, and multi‑jurisdiction income tax (experience outside multi‑state income/franchise valued but not required).
- Excellent supervisory, organizational, problem‑solving, critical/analytical thinking, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent project management and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in business computer applications and ability to work in a fully paperless environment.
