The Wyoming Department of Health is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to serve as a Vital Records Clerk in the office of Vital Record Services. The role involves registering adoption, birth, death, fetal death, marriage, and divorce events that occur in the State of Wyoming, working collaboratively with other Vital Records Clerks.

- Manage the day‑to‑day completion of birth, adoption, death, fetal death, marriage, and divorce records within the Vital Statistics Services System.
- Collaborate with funeral homes, county officials, health care providers, health information managers, county registrars, and other system users to file records timely and accurately.
- Process court‑ordered amendments, affidavits, and corrections for all vital event records.
- Investigate evidence to review and file delayed records.
- Act as a resource to provide information or interpretation of agency‑specific rules and regulations to staff, the public, or other government entities.
- Perform additional administrative responsibilities, including acting as a backup for the Issuance Unit.
- Contribute to the technical team to identify system issues and assist in writing requirements and testing as needed.
Applicants with two or more years of experience working with records and with strong organization, multitasking, time‑management, workflow tracking, and accurate data entry skills will receive preference.
Knowledge- Knowledge and understanding of applicable state statutes, administrative rules, policies, and procedures pertaining to Vital Statistics.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Team‑player with a record of working with and supporting others to accomplish organizational goals.
- Strong written and oral communication, legislative interpretation, research, evaluation, analysis, and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, establish and accomplish goals, communicate instructions verbally and in writing, manage time, and schedule workloads.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree (typically in Records or Data Management). - Experience:
0–1 year of progressive work experience in Records and Data Management, with acquired knowledge at the level of a Records & Data Management Clerk. - OR: 3–4 years of progressive work experience in Records and Data Management at the same level.

None.
- Employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; occasional walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, and driving an automobile may be required.
