Overview
Are you passionate about workplace safety and looking to grow your career in construction safety? We re seeking a motivated Safety Technician to support commercial construction projects throughout Cheyenne and the surrounding region.
As a Safety Technician, you ll work alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, and field personnel to promote a strong safety culture, ensure OSHA compliance, and help every employee return home safely each day. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in the field, solving problems, and making a real impact on project success.
Responsibilities- Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections and document findings.
- Assist with implementing and enforcing company safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA, client, and company safety standards.
- Lead new hire safety orientations and assist with ongoing safety training.
- Conduct toolbox talks and weekly safety meetings.
- Perform hazard assessments and assist crews in developing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and property damage events, documenting corrective actions.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Monitor fall protection, excavation, confined space, lockout/tagout, and other high-risk activities.
- Maintain safety records, inspection reports, and training documentation.
- Assist with safety audits and client compliance requirements.
- Promote a positive, proactive safety culture across all projects.
Required
- 1-3 years of construction safety experience (commercial construction preferred)
- Working knowledge of OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1926)
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile technology
- Valid driver s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to travel to regional jobsites
Preferred
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- CHST or STSC certification (or working toward certification)
- Experience with commercial, industrial, or mechanical construction
