GENERAL DESCRIPTION
People with a passion for history and museums may be a good fit for this seasonal role at the Quebec 01 Missile Alert Facility, part of Wyoming State Parks and Cultural Resources. The facility, located north of Cheyenne, was a U.S. Air Force deactivated missile alert site from 1962 to 2004 and is now one of Wyoming’s newest historic sites. Seasonal employment runs from mid‑April through the end of September, with some positions starting earlier or extending later.
These positions are 40‑hour/week and allow you to explore and interpret the site’s intriguing history.
- Present interpretive programs, such as historical tours, explaining the history of Quebec 01.
- Lead school tours, adult tours, and other institutional tours.
- Greet visitors, collect admission fees and gift shop fees, reconcile the cash register at shift end, and assist with gift shop inventory.
- Perform basic office duties, including answering phone messages and returning calls.
- Keep the site superintendent informed of all site issues.
- Collaborate with volunteers on various projects and duties.
- Carry out basic housekeeping duties, including dusting, arranging furniture, vacuuming, and cleaning public restrooms.
- Perform basic outdoor duties such as snow shoveling and general lawn maintenance.
- Assist the superintendent with collections management as needed.
- Handle opening and closing duties.
- Support other sites in the Laramie District with special projects and events as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned and required.
- Professional demeanor with excellent customer service.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Detail‑oriented, accurate, and thorough in completing assignments.
- Good interpersonal skills for interacting with visitors worldwide.
- Willingness to work on a variety of assignments daily.
- Experience handling money, cash registers, and retail sales.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with variable timelines and scopes.
- Basic construction and maintenance knowledge.
- Basic operational knowledge of light and heavy equipment, hand and power tools.
- Basic safety awareness of equipment use.

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Lift at least 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
