As a Service Writer for Power Motive Corporation, you will play a key role in the company's success by streamlining the day‑to‑day clerical duties of the Service team. You will act as a key point of contact for our external service customers while assisting our Service Manager and Service Department with its daily operations.
Service Department Operations- Open work orders as directed by the Service Manager and maintain control until closed and invoiced.
- Handle Repair Order charges, parts, warranty validation & claims coverage including computation of charges, submission and follow‑up.
- Manage timecards and input into both Paycom and CDK/Intelli Dealer.
- Code invoices for payment.
- Return cores and unused parts from service work orders.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Account for all time on a time card and for all material used in performing assigned duties.
- Handle service department filing and records.
- Update customer profiles using equipment, hours or other information from the customer work orders.
- Maintain accessories and supplies and prepare replacement orders for the Service Manager's approval.
- Assist the Fleet Manager by maintaining service truck licensing, insurance cards, and DOT inspection records to ensure PMC follows the regulations.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- Answer phones – direct phone calls, and if no one is available, help when possible or take a message.
- Assist in handling customer complaints and concerns.
- Greet customers immediately in a courteous manner.
- Treat customers fairly and with honesty, and demonstrate commitment to superior customer service and ethical business practices.

- Must have an outgoing, friendly personality and superior communication & customer service skills.
- Experience working in a service department.
- Ability to write and work on routine reports and correspondence.
- Good computer skills.
- Knowledge of office procedures.
- Good organizational ability.
- General understanding of mechanical/technical terms.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Requires the use of both hands.
