We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and efficient clinical environment. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental procedures, patient assessment, and infection control protocols, with a focus on general dentistry. The Registered Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to ensure optimal oral health outcomes for patients of all ages.
Duties- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and medical histories in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with medical imaging procedures such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
- Document treatment procedures accurately within Dentrix
- Review medical and dental records to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with healthcare standards
- Support pediatric dentistry procedures, ensuring a gentle and caring approach for young patients
- Practice infection control using aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment
- Maintain clinical supplies, sterilize instruments, and ensure the cleanliness of the treatment area
- Adhere to all dental terminology standards, medical coding requirements, and documentation review protocols
- Proficiency in dental software systems such as Dentrix (is a plus)
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data security
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Attention to detail in documentation review and medical coding processes
- Prior experience in dental office or clinic settings is preferred but not required
