Salary: $61,575 minimum – $94,083 maximum base
Classroom Teacher
Purpose Statement: Provide instructional support by supervising students, developing lesson plans, delivering instruction, collaborating with staff, and responding to inquiries from parents or guardians.
Essential Functions- Administer subject‑specific assessments to evaluate student competency and develop learning plans.
- Advise parents/legal guardians about student progress and strategies for improvement.
- Assess student progress toward objectives and provide feedback.
- Collaborate with instructional staff, parents, and community resources to improve student outcomes.
- Direct assistant teachers, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers, and/or student workers to support classroom program.
- Instruct students using varied instructional techniques to enhance academic success.
- Maintain district equipment in safe condition and report defects.
- Manage student behavior to ensure a safe learning environment.
- Monitor students in classroom, playground, field trips, etc.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars.
- Prepare written materials (grades, attendance, anecdotal records) to document progress.
- Stay current on research findings related to teaching and learning.
- Report incidents (fights, abuse, substance abuse) to maintain safety.
- Respond to inquiries from teachers, parents, administrators, etc.
- Apply accepted principles of learning to deliver effective instruction.
Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient functioning of the work unit.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities- Strong assessment skills and proficiency with office equipment and software.
- Mathematics competence (algebra/geometry) and ability to read technical information.
- Knowledge of codes, policies, laws, child development stages, and behavior management.
- Ability to schedule activities, gather data, operate equipment, and work with diverse individuals.
- Problem‑solving skills and ability to analyze situations to create action plans.
- Flexibility, confidentiality, tact, patience, and willingness to work flexible hours.
Work under limited supervision following standardized practices, lead and coordinate others, and use resources from other work units.
Working EnvironmentPhysical demands include occasional lifting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and fine finger dexterity. The job requires 10% sitting, 45% walking, and 45% standing.
ExperienceJob‑related experience required.
EducationBachelor’s degree in a job‑related area required.
CertificatesAppropriate Wyoming State Department of Education Certificate, endorsement, and highly qualified status.
ClearancesCriminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
