Full‑Time: 185‑day contract. Contract
Start Date:
August 17, 2026. Monday – Friday. Salary: $61,575 minimum – $94,083 maximum base.
Classroom Teacher – Art.
Purpose:
Support the instructional process by teaching art, supervising students, developing lesson plans, delivering instruction, collaborating with staff, and responding to inquiries from parents or guardians. Reports to the Building Principal.
- Administers subject‑specific assessments to evaluate student competency and develop individualized learning plans.
- Advises parents and legal guardians on student progress, expectations, achievements, and improvement methods.
- Assesses student progress toward objectives and provides feedback to students, parents, and administration.
- Collaborates with instructional staff, school personnel, parents, and community resources to improve student outcomes and meet classroom objectives.
- Directs assistants, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers, and student workers to support classroom programs.
- Instructs students in art techniques and concepts to improve academic success.
- Maintains district equipment, ensuring safe operation and reporting defects.
- Manages student behavior to maintain a safe learning environment.
- Monitors students in various settings to provide a safe, positive environment.
- Participates in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars to acquire information required for functions.
- Prepares written materials (grades, attendance, anecdotal records) to document progress and meet mandates.
- Stays current on research findings related to teaching and learning and applies them to instruction.
- Reports incidents (e.g., fights, suspected abuse) to maintain safety and comply with policies.
- Responds to inquiries from teachers, parents, administrators to resolve issues and provide information.
- Utilizes accepted learning principles (transfer, reinforcement, motivation, retention) to deliver effective instruction.
Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient functioning of the work unit.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities- Ability to apply assessment instruments, operate office equipment, use software, and maintain accurate records.
- Knowledge of algebra/geometry, reading technical information, composing documents, facilitating discussions, and analyzing situations.
- Knowledge of codes, policies, regulations, age‑appropriate activities, lesson plan requirements, child development stages, and behavior management strategies.
- Ability to schedule activities, gather and classify data, operate job‑related equipment, and work with diverse individuals.
- Problem‑solving skills to analyze issues and create action plans.
- Ability to maintain constructive relationships, adapt to changing priorities, maintain confidentiality, and exhibit tact and patience.
- Job‑related experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. Preferred:

- Appropriate Wyoming State Department of Education certificate, endorsement, and highly qualified status.
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background clearance.
Physical demands include occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and fine finger dexterity. Job requires 10% sitting, 45% walking, 45% standing. Minimal temperature variations, hazard‑free environment.
