Laramie County Community College is dedicated to student success and aspires to develop world‑class community college faculty. The College’s instructional faculty positions have the primary responsibilities of teaching assigned courses, being available for students, and collaborating on departmental objectives when applicable. Faculty further serve the College in collaborative and collegial relationships across the institution. LCCC supports adjunct faculty by providing an environment conducive to excellent teaching and learning, classroom equipment and supplies, and resources to meet the challenges that arise in the course of teaching.

Prudent utilization of LCCC’s resources is a prime responsibility of LCCC’s administration. Therefore, the college reserves the right to change course assignments if needed. Full‑time faculty member with less than a full load may be assigned to teach a course that was originally assigned to an adjunct instructor. All changes in teaching assignments will be made prior to the first class meeting.

The position of Adjunct Instructor is part‑time, non‑benefitted, and employed on a course‑by‑course basis without any obligation or promise of continued future employment and are provided competitive compensation.

LCCC provides a number of resources to its adjunct faculty. Support systems are in place to assist all faculty in supporting student success through excellent instruction. These supports are outlined in detail in the LCCC Faculty Handbook, which serves as a vital and current reference to policies and procedures that impact expectations of all faculty of the College. All LCCC faculty are supported by the Faculty Academy within the Center for Excellence in Teaching.

Adjunct faculty must notify the dean of the school in which they teach if they are employed in another position at LCCC.

Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional need.

Compensation: $850 per credit hour.

Priority Screening Date: Position is open until filled.

Starting Date: Fall 2025. Position filled on an as needed basis.

• Teaching and Learning: Employs student‑centered instruction coupled with the development and use of appropriate and current educational materials. Consistently and promptly responds to student inquiries and shares timely, appropriate, and instructive feedback and evaluation of student work.
• Competency‑Based Design: Applies competency‑based design to the development of curriculum, engaging with colleagues at the course, program, and institutional level with the aim of continuous improvement.
• Professionalism: Collaborates and actively reflects on responsibilities to positively contribute to one’s discipline, pathway, the College, and the greater community.
• Other responsibilities may be assigned based on contemporary institutional needs.

• Frequently required to move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities.
• May involve multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Must have the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasks as well.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there may be instances of somewhat loud environments.
