Job Summary

The Instructor, Speech‑Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) is a full‑time, benefited position responsible for delivering high‑quality instruction in the Human & Public Services Pathway and related courses at the community college level. The instructor will teach a range of SLP courses, including introductory courses in speech development and disorder treatment, adult and early childhood speech interventions, field observations, and school‑age interventions, catering to students with varied academic and career goals.

Responsibilities include developing, revising, and delivering course materials aligned with college standards, and assessing student performance. Instruction is delivered online, both synchronously and asynchronously, providing academic support to help students succeed. The instructor must demonstrate a deep commitment to fostering student success through engagement in departmental activities and staying current in the fields of teaching and SLPA through professional development.

In addition to classroom teaching, the SLPA Instructor actively participates in student engagement activities such as recruitment, on‑campus events, and academic support initiatives. The instructor contributes to continuous improvement of the institution by collaborating with colleagues across the college on curriculum development, program assessment, community building, and student success strategies. The role also involves institutional service, including participation on committees, involvement in accreditation processes, and collaboration on departmental projects.
