Schedule: Monday – Friday

Salary: $61,575 – $94,083 base

The Resource Teacher supports the instructional process by facilitating student success in academic areas; supervising students; developing lesson plans; delivering group and individual instruction; collaborating with teachers, staff, and administrators; and responding to parent inquiries about the instructional program and student progress.

• Adapt classroom work to provide instructional materials that address individualized learning plans.
• Administer developmental testing programs and subject-specific assessments to evaluate student competency and develop learning plans.
• Advise parents and guardians on student progress and strategies for improvement.
• Advise students on improving performance, health status, problem-solving techniques, and personal issues.
• Assess student progress toward objectives and provide feedback to students, parents, and administration.
• Collaborate with instructional staff and community resources to improve student outcomes and support the school improvement plan.
• Demonstrate methods required to perform classroom and subject-specific assignments.
• Direct paraprofessionals, volunteers, and student workers to provide an effective classroom program.
• Instruct students to improve academic success.
• Manage student behavior to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Monitor students in various settings (classroom, playground, field trips, etc.) to maintain safety.
• Monitor progress toward goals and make adjustments to ensure success.
• Participate in development of measurable IEP goals and objectives.
• Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars to convey or gather information.
• Prepare and maintain written and electronic records (grades, attendance, anecdotal records, IEPs, evaluations).
• Report incidents (e.g., fights, suspected abuse, substance abuse) to maintain student safety.
• Respond to emergencies and direct to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to inquiries from teachers, parents, administrators, etc.
• Support classroom teachers in implementing established curriculum and individual student plans.

• Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient functioning of the work unit.

• Skills:
  
  apply assessment instruments, operate standard office equipment and related software, prepare accurate records.
• Knowledge: algebra/geometry, technical reading, document composition, group facilitation, problem analysis, codes, policies, regulations, teaching methods, developmental stages, behavioral strategies.
• Abilities: schedule activities, gather and classify data, work flexibly with diverse individuals, manipulate equipment, analyze situations, maintain confidentiality, exhibit tact and patience, work flexible hours.
• Experience:
  
  job-related experience required.
• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in related field.
• Certifications:
  
  Wyoming State Department of Education Certificate, endorsement, Highly Qualified status.
• Clearances:
  Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
• FLSA Status:
  Exempt.
