Adjunct Instructor, In-Car Driver's Education

The adjunct instructor, In-Car Driver's Education is a part time, non-benefited position responsible for providing instruction relating to the safe operation of a vehicle. The position facilitates learning through working one on one with students in their provided vehicles with the purpose of student's successfully exhibiting necessary skills required to pass the Wyoming Department of Motor Vehicles driving examination. Adjunct instructor collaborates with department staff, fellow in-car adjunct instructors and adjunct driver's education coordinator to ensure course materials and delivery meet the needs of the student population.

Compensation: $30 per hour.

Essential Functions:

  • Maximizes student engagement and success by employing methods that develop student understanding of safe driving principles.
  • Prepares and delivers in-car instruction by employing high-impact teaching practices in a learning environment that promotes respect and rapport.
  • Facilitates student achievement by maintaining clear expectations and defined learning outcomes.
  • Promotes learning through the innovative implementation of effective learning strategies.
  • Evaluates student engagement and success through the demonstration of skills.
  • Maintains professionalism by embodying the values, ethics, and behavior codes of LCCC and one's discipline.
  • Demonstrates social competence and effective communication in professional and academic venues.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge:

  • Administrative – Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and workplace terminology.
  • Computers – Knowledge of the operation of computers.
  • Customer and Personal Service – Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Education and Training – Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
  • English Language – Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Regulatory Compliance – Knowledge of laws, regulations and standards applicable to the job. Please specify (e.g., FERPA and Title IX).
