This position is a 11-month, Faculty C position. Screening will begin ASAP and continue until the position(s) is filled. As soon as practical after the interviewing process.

Salary and Benefits:
This is a full-time, benefited Faculty C, F1 level position. Starting salary range: $70,742.00 - $91,964.00/annually, depending upon experience.

The Pathway Coordinator, Trades and Technical Studies is a full-time, benefited position responsible for relationship building and academic success initiatives for the Trades and Technical Studies Pathway. This position plays a pivotal role in enhancing student success, community outreach, and the maintenance of internal and external partnerships as they pertain to the Pathway. The Coordinator collaborates with faculty, staff, and community partners to promote student engagement and success, and support diverse learners in achieving their academic and career aspirations.

Through the establishment of a community of interest which unites all students and associated Pathway personnel around common interests and pursuits, the Coordinator creates structure to the Pathway student experience and ensures critical relationships are established and nurtured and impactful experiences are accessible to all students. The Coordinator instructs courses as assigned, with priority instruction for the STRT (Strategies for Success) and TREX (Transition Experience) courses and assumes supervisory responsibilities of adjunct faculty in these courses as demand requires.

Key responsibilities for the Coordinator include implementing effective student support initiatives, and overall coordination of the Pathway as a community of interest. The Pathway Coordinator collaborates with the Program Director(s), K-12 and industry partners, and internal personnel to foster relationships that enhance educational pathways and create post-graduation employment and/or transfer opportunities for students. The Pathway Coordinator will actively participate in mentoring and academic support initiatives and lead the Pathway in on and off campus building of a community with students.

The Pathway Coordinator contributes to the continuous improvement of the department by collaborating with colleagues on program assessment, student success strategies, grant-funded opportunities, and other institutional initiatives. The Pathway Coordinator role also involves institutional service, including participation on committees, involvement in accreditation processes, and collaboration on departmental projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Pathway Community Building:
    Ensures all students in the Pathway have opportunity to develop meaningful connections with peers, faculty and staff, employers, or others who share their interests; coordinates event planning, programming, and curricular opportunities in support of this community of interest.
  • Pathway Development and Student Support:
    Ensures a cohesive and productive academic environment by collaborating with those in the Pathway and across the College as well as external stakeholders to develop a culture of innovation and continuous improvement through sustained partnerships.
  • Curriculum and Instruction: A primary responsibility of the Coordinator is instruction. At LCCC we seek instructors who are committed to excellence in teaching as demonstrated in the competency domains outlined below.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of pedagogy, curriculum design, and assessment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the philosophy and objectives of the community college.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics.
  • Knowledge of communication and dissemination techniques and methods as a way to inform, recruit and motivate others.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, contribute to group goals and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Proficient in organizing and maintaining accurate records in various digital formats.
  • Skilled in using computer tools to ensure easy access, accuracy, and security of information.
  • Ability to learn and understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision-making.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to plan, manage and organize multiple tasks and responsibilities at the same time.
  • Capable of representing the College in a professional manner, adapting to various situations with maturity, and maintaining confidentiality and discretion at all times.
