This is a full-time, benefited Faculty A, 5 level position. Starting salary range: $65,082.00 - $75,929.00/annually, depending upon experience. The Biology Instructor is a full-time, benefited position responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in the STEM Pathway and other related courses at the community college level. The instructor will teach a range of biology courses, including General Biology, Animal Biology, Research, Plant and Fungal Biology, catering to students with varied academic and career goals. Responsibilities include developing, revising, and delivering course materials aligned with college standards, assessing student performance, organizing and executing laboratory experiments, supervising students in a laboratory setting, and providing academic support to help students succeed.
The instructor must demonstrate a deep commitment to fostering student success through engagement in departmental activities and staying current in the fields of teaching and biology through professional development. In addition to classroom teaching, the instructor will actively participate in mentoring and academic support initiatives. The instructor will contribute to the continuous improvement of the department by collaborating with colleagues on curriculum development, program assessment, and student success strategies.
The role also involves institutional service, including participation on committees, involvement in accreditation processes, and collaboration on departmental projects. The instructor will remain current in the field through ongoing professional development, research, or creative activities within the classroom and college community.

Teaching and Learning
- Employs student-centered instruction coupled with the development and use of appropriate and current educational materials. Consistently and promptly responds to student inquiries and shares timely, appropriate, and instructive feedback and evaluation of student work.
