Salary and Benefits

Full-time, benefited Faculty B, F3 level position. Starting salary range: $74,492.00 - $96,839.00 annually, depending upon experience.

JOB SUMMARY

The Instructor, Dental Hygiene is responsible for the coordination, planning, presentation, and evaluation of classroom instruction and related activities. The Instructor is responsible for performing assigned duties during the day, evening, or weekend on any Laramie County Community College campus or outreach center as assigned. Minimum activities include instruction, instructional counseling, academic advising, serving on committees, coordinating or participating in school‑based community events and service‑learning activities, and engaging in local, state, regional, or national professional activities and organizations.

ESSENTIAL

FUNCTIONS

This position is exempt and is not eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA. The listing of essential duties is not all‑inclusive; other duties may be assigned.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Instructional duties across all courses in Dental Hygiene.

  • Instructional counseling and academic advising for students.

  • Participation on faculty, departmental, and institutional committees.

  • Coordinating and participating in school‑based community events and service‑learning activities.

  • Engagement in professional activities and organizations at local, state, regional, or national levels.

Teaching and Learning
  • Employ student‑centered instruction and use appropriate and current educational materials.

  • Respond promptly to student inquiries and provide timely, appropriate, and instructive feedback.

  • Maximize student engagement and success by employing methods that develop student understanding of the discipline’s values, practice, and procedures, and by engaging students in interdisciplinary practices for 21st‑century learning.

  • Prepare and deliver courses using high‑impact teaching practices in a respectful learning environment.

  • Maintain clear expectations and defined learning outcomes.

  • Promote learning through innovative classroom technologies.

Competency‑Based Design
  • Evaluate student engagement and success through formative and summative assessment.

  • Develop curriculum by articulating measurable, student‑centered learning outcomes and applying competency‑based design strategy.

  • Contribute to curriculum design, implementation, and review aligned with current or emerging community, state, or national needs.

  • Engage in continuous improvement of student learning and success by analyzing data and implementing change.
