We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher at New Boces, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the instructional process and fostering student success. Your responsibilities will include:

• Acting as a case manager for assigned students, scheduling IEP meetings, and completing necessary documentation.
• Adapting classroom work to meet individualized learning plans and IEP goals.
• Administering developmental testing and assessments to evaluate student competency and develop learning plans.
• Collaborating with teachers, staff, parents, and community resources to improve student outcomes.
• Planning and leading outings and field trips to promote community awareness and real-world learning.
• Guiding students in achieving IEP goals, including academic, interpersonal, and daily living skills.
• Managing and documenting student behavior to maintain a safe and optimal learning environment.
• Preparing reports, grades, and attendance records to track and communicate student progress.
• Responding to emergencies and ensuring student safety at all times.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need the following qualifications and skills:

• Current and valid PTSB Certification
• Current and valid Special Education Endorsement
• Current and valid Elementary Education Endorsement
• At least 1 year of experience working in a similar role.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting students with special needs.
