Job Overview
Martin/Martin Wyoming, Inc. is seeking an experienced structural engineer for our Cheyenne, Wyoming office. The role involves structural design on local and national projects across diverse markets including healthcare, commercial, office, sports, entertainment, education, and residential.
Work ScheduleFull-time. Projects are primarily in Wyoming and Northern Colorado, with occasional national assignments and travel opportunities.
Responsibilities- Strong knowledge of building and material codes and their application.
- Use of computer design and graphics software, including Auto Desk Revit, to produce construction documents.
- Complete design calculations for project components.
- Provide quality‑control checks of work produced.
- Coordinate structural design with other disciplines.
- Provide construction administration support: shop drawing review, responses to RFIs, and field observations.
- Familiarize with products and construction procedures.
- Observe construction on site.
- Attend technical training seminars when available.
- Collaborate with staff at Martin/Martin.
- Work overtime when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Act as a mentor and resource for less experienced staff on design techniques, software, and code questions.
- Assist Project Manager in developing and implementing QA/QC plans.
- Assist with monitoring design budgets and project schedules.
- Learn IBC, ASCE‑7, and material‑specific codes and apply them.
- Registered Professional Engineer.
- BS degree plus a minimum of four years of progressive civil or structural engineering experience (or MS with minimum three years).
- Ability to work in the Cheyenne, Wyoming area (relocation reimbursement may be provided).
- No visa sponsorship required now or in the future.
- Master’s degree in civil or architectural engineering with an emphasis on structures.
- Strong communication and technical skills.
- Ability to design, detail, coordinate, and model small to medium‑sized projects within time, budget constraints.
- Experience following projects from start of design through construction completion.
- Excellent time‑management skills.
- Commitment to continued personal growth and development.
- Member of a professional or technical society.
- Attends training to advance knowledge of consulting engineering practice.
- Desired:
Registered Professional Engineer in Wyoming.
- Move inside or outside the office and on non‑ADA accessible construction sites.
- Remain stationary for long periods.
- Repetitive movement tasks like using keyboard or mouse.
- Carry, ascend, and descend ladder.
- Identify color.
- Read, communicate, and document in English.
- Determine and exchange accurate information.
- Occasionally move or hold equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Base Salary:
