Job Description

RESPEC seeks an Early Career Engineer to join our team in Cheyenne, WY.

This position requires demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and business practices to plan and execute a diverse range of engineering projects. The primary focus of the role is the reclamation of abandoned mine lands, supporting projects from planning through design and construction.

  • Assist with the planning, investigation, inventory, design, and construction oversight of abandoned mine land projects
  • Support site assessments and geotechnical investigations of mined lands
  • Assist in the design of mine opening closures and regrading activities
  • Assist in the design and reclamation of hazardous highwalls
  • Assist in the design of drainage conveyance systems, including channels, under drains, and other stormwater controls

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of science or master of science degree in civil, environmental, or mining engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • A minimum of 1 year of mining engineering work experience
  • At least 1 year of experience using mining-related software such as AutoCAD Map 3D, Carlson, ArcGIS Pro
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience interpreting and applying the guidelines in the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
