Bechtel Infrastructure's Renewables & Clean Power business line is seeking qualified project controls professionals for a forthcoming combined cycle power plant project planned in Wyoming. The project team will be initially based in Reston, VA; following contract award, selected candidates will relocate to the designated project site. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the reemerging power business supporting our customers and society.
Job SummaryThe Project Risk Manager is a senior role responsible for managing the project risk management program on this exciting project. Responsible for guidance, support, and SME technical expertise in project risk management across internal and external stakeholders. Managing and maintaining resilient customer‑facing relationships and strategically maintaining trust of project leadership, the role requires an influential, confident people person with the ability to drive focus on PRM, lead through encouragement and connect PRM with key interfaces across the project scope.
The position will report to the Project Controls Manager.
- Implement an effective and integrated system of risk management strategy: plan, processes, procedures, work instructions, etc. in line with international best practices and standards.
- Maintain Risk and Opportunities statistics, monitor and report on Risk Management system effectiveness at both Project and Program level.
- Support and monitor the implementation of the Risk function across Projects.
- Facilitate and support risk and opportunity workshops across the projects.
- Facilitate risk workshops and advise on schedule/cost risk analysis.
- Consolidate risks from Project level to Program level for overall review & reporting.
- Report Risk Metrics and graphical displays including dashboards to Project Management.
- Ability to work with limited supervision to meet multiple deadlines.
- Requires Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in Qualitative Risk and ability to perform Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA).
- Experience facilitating risk workshops, risk reviews/sessions.
- Experience and knowledge of all discipline's risks during all Project stages from feasibility till handover e.g. procurement/contractual, QHSE, reputational Risks, etc.
- Previous experience with software for risk management/analysis programs such as SAFRAN, ARM and @ Risk software.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Construction or Management (preferred);
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction or Management (minimum). - Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in engineering and construction with minimum 5 years direct responsibility for management.
- Excellent communication skills with multiple levels of Management.
