Location: Cheyenne, WY 82007
Salary: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
Praetorian Power Protection, the leader in NETA testing and staff augmentation to the mission critical industry, is searching for a strong Commissioning Engineer with Electrical experience for our data center site in Cheyenne, WY. This role is critical to ensuring the successful commissioning of electrical systems for our projects. Key Responsibilities- Oversee the commissioning process of electrical systems in data centers to ensure they meet project specifications and industry standards.
- Perform functional and performance testing of electrical infrastructure, including power distribution units (PDU), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), generators, switch gear, and transformers.
- Develop and execute commissioning plans, test procedures, and reports.
- Work closely with design, construction, and operational teams to identify and resolve issues during the commissioning process.
- Conduct site inspections and system validation to ensure compliance with industry regulations (IEEE, NFPA, NEC, and Uptime Institute standards).
- Troubleshoot and provide technical support for electrical systems and components.
- Document findings and prepare detailed reports outlining any deficiencies and recommended corrective actions.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety and quality control measures.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to align expectations and deliverables.
- Provide training and technical guidance to facility operations personnel.
- 3+ years of experience in commissioning electrical systems in data centers or mission‑critical facilities.
- Strong understanding of power distribution, redundancy, and reliability requirements in data center environments.
- Familiarity with electrical testing and commissioning tools such as power meters, infrared thermography, and breaker test sets.
- Experience working with commissioning processes such as Level 1-5 commissioning (Cx) per ASHRAE guidelines.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work under pressure in fast‑paced environments.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, SKM, ETAP, and other electrical design and analysis software is a plus.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
- 5x10 schedule (the last 10 hours are OT)
- 7 days per diem at the GSA rate
- 15 days PTO
