Overview
Under supervision of the Event Manager, the Event Assistant supports all phases of event management for renters and internal events with the Laramie County Events Department. Events include, but are not limited to, the Laramie County Fair, Laramie County Sportsman’s Expo, Laramie County Spirit of Giving, dog shows, RV shows, banquets, and more. The position is considered part-time with a varied weekly schedule requiring an estimated 10–30 hours per week depending on events, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
Tasks will include all aspects of event management, including guest services, production, facilities, security, parking, vendor management, and box office services.

- Assist Event Manager during all phases of event management for renters and vendors of the Event Center for the proper dissemination of event and facility related requirements and information
- Observe event management during events at the Event Center at Archer to ensure high level of renter, vendor, and guest satisfaction
- Assist department staff in event set-up and tear-down
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients
- Assist in preparing event reports, noting attendance, times, significant problems, etc.
- Interact with other department staff in a courteous, cooperative, and professional manner
- Communicates in a timely fashion any/all problems and proposed solutions to Event Manager
- Assist the Marketing and Sponsorship Manager with marketing efforts including creating graphics in Canva, hanging posters and signs, and other duties as needed
- Assist Event Manager in developing safe and effective event layouts in AutoCAD
- Serve as point of contact for specific events at the Event Center at Archer to assist management where needed
- Assist in administrative duties including answering phone calls, taking event inquiries, and processing paperwork
- Performs other duties as assigned or required
High School Diploma or equivalent. Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Flexible schedule that permits occasional evening and weekend hours
Knowledge and Skills- Ability to take direction and work independently
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills over the phone and in-person
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Great time management and project management skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Office products
- Ability to work near livestock and farm animals
- Ability to occasionally work outside, sometimes in adverse weather conditions
