Wyoming Injury And Violence Prevention Program Manager
This position is responsible for managing the Wyoming Injury and Violence Prevention Program (WIVPP) within the Public Health Division of the Wyoming Department of Health. This program focuses on reducing unintentional and intentional injuries, including suicide, in Wyoming. In addition, this position is responsible for the Rape Prevention and Education (RPE) grant. The WIVPP Manager assumes full responsibility, accountability, policy-making input, personnel management, budgetary setting oversight, and coordination of injury prevention activities.
This program is a key contributor to the division's mission of promoting, protecting, and improving health and preventing disease and injury in Wyoming.

Essential functions include managing all aspects of the Wyoming Injury and Violence Prevention Program by developing and administering policy, procedures, and programming initiatives; directly supervising employees; writing, coordinating, implementing, and overseeing grant and contract activities; gathering information, analyzing and interpreting data; preparing reports on program performance; coordinating teams and providing leadership to review cases of death; overseeing funding requirements; managing and administering the annual budget;
interpreting and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws; collaborating with stakeholders; designing and presenting professional presentations; serving as a key liaison with federal stakeholders and other groups.
Preferences are given to a Bachelor's degree in psychology/social science or services, public health, health promotion, public administration, or related field with 1-3 years of progressive work experience managing a health services program. Knowledge in written and oral communication, public speaking, leadership, team building, problem solving, grant writing, budget monitoring, data analysis, report writing, interpersonal communication, program management techniques, employee supervision, team building processes, policy development, injury prevention, suicide prevention, health promotion, evidence-based public health interventions, public health, quality assurance/performance management, and customer service is required.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree (typically in Healthcare) and 1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Health Programs) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Health Program Specialist or 4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Health Programs) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Health Program Specialist.
Physical working conditions include sitting comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, driving an automobile, etc. FLSA:
