GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Make a lasting difference in the lives of individuals, families, and communities by serving as a Probation and Parole Agent with the Wyoming Department of Corrections. This position combines public safety, case management, and evidence-based interventions to help individuals successfully reintegrate into society while reducing recidivism and promoting long-term behavioral change.

In this role, you will supervise a diverse caseload of adult probationers and parolees, including misdemeanor and felony offenders with varying risks and needs. Using validated assessment tools, motivational interviewing techniques, and evidence-based practices, you will develop individualized case plans that encourage accountability, support positive decision-making, and foster sustainable behavior change.

Success in this position requires building collaborative relationships with clients, victims, community partners, treatment providers, law enforcement agencies, courts, and correctional institutions. You will conduct office, home, and employment visits, facilitate cognitive intervention programming, monitor compliance with court and supervision requirements, and apply appropriate interventions, incentives, and sanctions to encourage progress toward supervision goals.

This position also plays a vital role in the criminal justice process through conducting investigations, preparing reports and recommendations for courts and parole authorities, collaborating on inmate reentry planning, and engaging with victims to provide information, support, and safety planning.

Through a balance of accountability and encouragement, you will help individuals overcome barriers, make meaningful life changes, and become productive, law‑abiding members of their communities while enhancing public safety throughout Wyoming.
