Position Summary
The Occupational Therapist supports the developmental needs of children (ages birth to three). The role includes conducting assessments, determining eligibility for services, and developing and implementing individualized intervention plans for children with developmental delays or disabilities. The OT partners with families, caregivers, and community providers to support each child’s individualized development, ensuring services are delivered in natural learning environments and aligned with Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs).
Travel may be required to effectively support the assigned caseload.
195‑day position per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct developmental assessments and evaluations to determine eligibility for occupational therapy services.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with families and interdisciplinary team members.
- Provide direct early intervention services in natural settings (home, childcare, or community environments).
- Participate in IFSP meetings and contribute professional expertise in goal development and progress monitoring.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with program, state, and federal guidelines.
- Collaborate with speech‑language pathologists, physical therapists, developmental specialists, and other professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to services.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
- Attend staff team meetings as required.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
- Bachelors, Master's or Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current state license (or eligibility for licensure) as an Occupational Therapist through the Wyoming Board of Occupational Therapy. Will also consider applicants eligible for a Limited License through the Wyoming Board of Occupational Therapy. Supervision is available.
- Three years of experience in early intervention or a related field is preferred.
- Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification required or must be obtained within 3 months of hire.
- Must successfully complete abuse/neglect Central Registry check, sex offender and criminal background screening, and fingerprinting.
- TB risk assessment to be completed within 30 days of hire.
- Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and liability insurance required if position involves travel.
- Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Oral and written communication skills for effective interaction with children and adults.
- Capability to stay calm and professional in environments with frequent interruptions.
- Capacity to remain alert, adaptable, and professional at all times.
- Ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Skill in multitasking and managing tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
- Competence in communicating, interacting, and working cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Capacity to perform duties with minimal direct supervision.
- Knowledge of early intervention principles, family‑centered practices, and child development.
- Knowledge of IDEA Part C and eligibility of Part
B. - Awareness of workplace safety, adherence to safety protocols, practice of safe work habits, appropriate use of safety equipment, and reporting of unsafe conditions to supervisors.
- Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of program and client information.
- Adherence to organization policies, standards, and training.
- Knowledge of special education technology software and tools.
- Work is primarily performed indoors. Services are primarily delivered in home, childcare, and community settings.
- Duties may require various physical positions including stooping, kneeling, crouching, grasping, holding, reaching, sitting, and moving between locations.
- Must be able to lift children or equipment weighing up to 35 pounds independently and over 35 pounds with assistance.
- Position requires managing moderate to high levels of mental and emotional demands.
- Flexible scheduling to meet family needs.
- Able to travel to sites, meetings, and trainings.
- Willing to drive in adverse weather conditions.

Assistant Director of Early Childhood and general direction from the Executive Director.
