Pay Ranges
  • Hiring Pay Ranges: $70,000.00 - $ per year
  • Technology Officer IV: $70,000.00 - $ per year
  • Technology Officer V: $90,000.00 - $ per year
  • The hiring pay range for this position is commensurate with the level of relevant experience and education.

Summary
  • The Software Systems Manager is a senior technology leader responsible for the reliability, security, and modernization of the enterprise systems portfolio across on premises and cloud environments. This role sets strategy, governs standards, and leads cross functional teams to deliver resilient infrastructure, core platforms, data services, integrations, and enterprise applications that enable the business. The Software Systems Manager partners with Project Management, Information Security, Risk, Audit, Resiliency, and Business Operations to ensure systems meet regulatory and compliance obligations while achieving performance, availability, and cost objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Understand and support systems roadmap covering infrastructure, platforms, data pipelines, and enterprise applications; ensure alignment to business strategy, risk appetite, and budget.
  • Champion platform lifecycle management (planning, currency, end-of-life, and replacement) to reduce technical debt and operational risk.
  • Own targets for uptime, performance, capacity, and incident resolution across critical systems. Participate in Incident, Change, Problem, and configuration management.
  • Lead enterprise monitoring/observability (logs, metrics, traces), capacity planning, and performance engineering; ensure proactive detection and rapid restoration.
  • Understand and assist with backup, restore, and disaster recovery. Participate in planning and executing DR tests and table‑top exercises, tracking remediation to closure.
  • Partner with Information Security to embed security‑by‑design: identity & access (IAM), secrets management, patching, vulnerability remediation, encryption, and segmentation.
  • Ensure systems meet regulatory and withstand internal/external audits; manage evidence, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee data governance and data quality controls within Systems and integrations; support retention and legal hold requirements.
  • Own core enterprise platforms and key line‑of‑business applications.
  • Govern interface & data integration design ensuring reliability, observability, and performance at scale.
  • Drive modernization initiatives (cloud adoption, containerization, platform consolidation), balancing resilience, cost, and risk.
  • Participate in vendor due diligence and ongoing oversight (SOC 2/ISO 27 01, resilience, security posture, support models).
  • Manage departmental budget, forecast run‑costs vs. change‑costs, and execute cost optimization without compromising risk controls.
  • Sponsor and steer major programs (migrations, upgrades, re‑platforming); ensure disciplined execution and production readiness criteria.
  • Build and lead a high‑performing team of Leads, Engineers, and Analysts; develop succession plans, career paths, and upskilling programs.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement; use blameless post‑mortems and metrics to learn and improve.
  • Model strong stakeholder engagement with Business Unit leaders, Project Management, Information Security, Risk, Audit, and Operations.
