Job Title:
Data Center Technician
We are seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to support the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of data center infrastructure. This hands‑on role requires strong technical knowledge of hardware, cabling, and operational procedures to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient data center operations.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, stage, set up, and perform equipment startups and shutdowns (e.g., racks, servers, drives, switches) following documented procedures, checklists, and deployment guidelines.
- Perform post‑deployment quality checks to verify proper grounding, labeling, staging, and cabling in accordance with safety standards and Network Design Tasks.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues, identify root causes, and replace faulty components using established processes.
- Execute hardware decommissioning and lifecycle activities (e.g., upgrades, replacements, OS rebuilds) with minimal supervision.
- Follow established communication, reporting, and escalation procedures; promptly notify Data Center Technician Leads as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date documentation for deployments, incidents, and changes.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and associated components.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must hold an active Master Electrician license in the state of Wyoming.
- Previous data center experience.
- Hands‑on experience with rack‑and‑stack deployments and structured cabling.
