Role Overview
Data Center Technician – IT Technician (DCT) is responsible for preparing, staging, setting up, and performing start‑ups and shut‑downs of equipment such as racks, hard drives, and switches according to specific instructions, checklists, guides, standard protocols, and emails.
Responsibilities- Prepare, stage, and set up equipment, followed by start‑ups and shut‑downs.
- Perform post‑execution quality checks to verify grounding, labeling, and cabling against safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned Network Design Tasks.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues following standard procedures, identify causes, replace faulty components, decommission hardware for simple changes, and refresh components with minimal guidance.
- Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to the appropriate Datacenter Technician Leads according to established procedures.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
- At least one year of experience supporting IT network equipment and low‑voltage cabling installation in data centers.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Flexibility to work non‑standard business hours, including weekends and/or holidays.
- Ability to work with a team in a secure environment; majority of work is physical.
Entry Level
Job Type & LocationContract position, based in Cheyenne, WY.
Pay and BenefitsPay range: $25.00 – $45.00 per hour.
