Junior Service Now Developer
Location & term:
Remote, 12 months (2,080 hours). Target start:
November 2025. Team context:
Enterprise Platform Team with admins and platform devs; PMO support; agency product owners/SMEs.
Core responsibilities:
- Contribute to PSDS scoped app development and platform enhancements across ITSM/ITOM/ITAM/IRM/SPM.
- Build/maintain integrations; support documentation and unit testing.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies; deliver increments aligned to standards and best practices.
- Support configuration, scripting, and change management activities.
Skills & experience:
- Service Now development and scripting fundamentals; exposure to PSDS.
- Familiarity with HAM Pro/SAM and core modules.
- Public-sector familiarity;
Agile/Scrum participation. - Typical experience band cited: 3–5 years overall Service Now experience (vendor should clearly label as Junior and show module contributions).
Certifications (nice-to-have):
- Progress toward CAD/CIS or equivalent coursework
Outcomes:
- Accelerate digital service delivery (PSDS), improve platform stability/performance, strengthen asset/service management, and transfer knowledge to internal staff.
Reporting & cadence:
- Weekly coordination with the Enterprise Platform Manager/team.
- Monthly status reporting on deliverables, risks/mitigations, issues/solutions.
- Standard time-keeping; monthly invoicing with reconciled hours.
Security, Data, and Governance:
- Work may involve data from public to confidential classifications; follow State OCIO information classification policies.
- Align with State security policies/standards; some efforts may require security review prior to issuance.
- Build to ITIL and Service Now best practices for stability, security, and compliance.

Mature a centralized Service Now platform (including PSDS and core modules) to optimize statewide service delivery, build internal capacity, and reduce reliance on third-party implementers.
