Position OverviewWalmart seeks a dynamic and experienced Licensed Manager of Facilities Maintenance Operations to oversee the predictive and preventive maintenance of facilities within a regional area. The manager will lead a dedicated team of technicians, ensuring buildings operate efficiently, sustainably, and provide a safe environment for associates and customers.
Responsibilities- Requires approximately 50% or more travel within the region.
- Works directly with Store Managers and Facility Services Leadership on their facility services needs.
- Coordinates with vendors and contractors as needed.
- Prepares reporting and analytics on maintenance performance.
- Maintains up‑to‑date contractor licenses to uphold good standing with relevant authorities.
- Participates in training programs to stay current with regulatory requirements, conduct site inspections, and monitor compliance and quality standards.
- Obtains and secures all necessary permits and schedules inspections as mandated by mechanical or building codes.
- General Facilities Services / Overall Building Maintenance Experience – 3–5 years optimal.
- Electrical, plumbing, and/or mechanical experience.
- Leadership skills – able to lead, motivate, and develop others.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem‑solving skills – root‑cause and breakdown analysis experience.
- EPA Universal Certification.
- PMP Certification.
- Lean Six Sigma.
- Maintain a Mechanical Contractor license in the state of employment.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field and 3 years of experience in facilities management, construction management, mechanical maintenance, engineering, or a related area. Alternatively, 5 years of experience in a comparable area. Required certifications include EPA 608 within 90 days of hire and a Mechanical Contractor License or equivalent in the state of employment.
Preferred QualificationsExperience with building controls or related area; prior work as a maintenance supervisor in an optical, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environment; state/jurisdiction‑specific certifications and licenses; knowledge of Type I and Type II EPA refrigerant handling. A reciprocal license may apply.
