Position Overview
We are seeking a Project Manager with experience in structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication to oversee projects from contract award through shop completion and delivery. This role focuses strictly on the fabrication side, coordinating shop operations, schedules, materials, and production to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage structural steel and misc. metals fabrication projects from kickoff to shipment
- Coordinate with detailing, purchasing, and shop production teams
- Track fabrication schedules, costs, and material procurement
- Review contract documents, drawings, and shop drawings
- Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders related to fabrication scope
- Communicate with customers, GCs, and internal stakeholders
- Ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications
- 3+ years of experience in structural steel and/or miscellaneous metals fabrication project management
- Strong understanding of shop processes, sequencing, and production workflows
- Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings
- Experience coordinating detailing, purchasing, and production
- Experience with AISC-certified fabrication shops
- Familiarity with Tekla, Bluebeam, or similar detailing and fabrication software
