Purposeof Position
The Concrete Tie Technician is responsible for operating machines and other equipment in a safe and efficient manner during the production process.
Task and Responsibilities- Prestressed concrete setup.
- Maintain and operate hand and power tools such as saw, flipping station, casting machine, stressing system, utility tractor, overhead crane, hydraulic lifts, forklifts, and cranes.
- Prepare and handle production templates throughout the production process.
- Clean up production area regularly.
- Read and follow the production schedule.
- Work effectively in teams.
- Operate with little supervision.
- Adhere to Nortrak’s Safety, Quality, and Environmental Procedures, Practices, and Policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or climbing.
- Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly lift and move up to 20–25 pounds, occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Hearing abilities related to job assigned.
- High School graduate or GED preferred.
- Experience in forklift and crane operations preferred.
- Knowledge of operating hand and power tools such as saw, flipping station, casting machine, stressing system, utility tractor, overhead cranes, and hydraulic lifts.
- Ability to read work orders, ITPs, blueprints, rulers, and tape measures.
- Basic mathematical calculation experience in adding and subtracting whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Experience in the construction industry is a plus.
- PCI experience or certification preferred.
- ACI experience or certification preferred.
- Less experience will also be considered.
