Maintenance Specialist

Purpose of the Position

The Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for maintaining all plant production equipment, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing CNC milling machines, hydraulic presses, saws, planers, cranes, jib hoist, forklifts, welders, and other metal‑working equipment.

• Preventive maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of all mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and CNC electronics on manufacturing machinery, material handling systems, cranes, forklifts, dust collection system, and the physical plant.
• Train operators on preventive maintenance and maintain a work‑order system.
• Layout, installation, and start‑up of project work.
• Organize and maintain spare parts inventory.
• Understand the operation of pneumatics, hydraulics, and general mechanics.
• Complete daily work orders and assignments in a timely manner.
• Understand programmable logic controls, variable frequency drives, sensors and transducers, including pyrometers, pressure transducers & switches, multimeters, thermocouples, and proximity sensors.
• Wire motors and controls up to 480 VAC & 250 VDC.
• Perform shaft alignments and select appropriate couplers.
• Understand hydraulic controls and pumps, including pressure relief valves, directional control valves, and flow controls on vane & piston pumps.
• Be willing to work outside from man lifts in rain or snow.
• Understand lock‑out tag‑out procedures.
• Adhere to Nortrak’s safety, quality, and environmental procedures, practices, and policies.

• Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, pushing, pulling, or lifting objects for the duration of the scheduled shift.
• Use hands and arms to operate tools, handle materials, and reach.
• Regularly lift and carry 30–35 lb; occasionally lift up to 50 lb.
• Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Hearing abilities necessary to perform job tasks safely and effectively.

Cheyenne, Wyoming

• High school graduate or GED preferred.
• Vocational technical training in a mechanical related field is preferred.
• Three years of maintenance experience preferred.
• Must be able to score the minimum required on the corporate maintenance test.
• Forklift and crane certification preferred.
