The Frog Fitter – Fabricator is responsible for assembling and welding railway components using heavy machinery that emits high heat.

• Able to operate grinder, welder, and power tools
• Proficiently assemble assigned frogs in a timely manner
• Finish grinding, welding, fitting, and assembling steel, iron, and manganese track‑work related products as specified
• Grind filler blocks, fit standard and mag‑tip switch points, and other miscellaneous track‑work related products such as switch‑clip assemblies
• Read and follow the production schedule
• Safely operate jib and overhead cranes
• Perform routine cleanup of the work area
• Work with little supervision
• Adhere to Nortrak's Safety, Quality, and Environmental Procedures, Practices, and Policies
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High School graduate or GED preferred
• Experience in welding and grinding operations is an asset
• Experience in forklift and crane operations is an asset
• Ability to read work orders and blueprints preferred
• Experience with measuring equipment preferred
• Basic mathematical calculation experience in adding and subtracting whole numbers, fractions, and decimals

• Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, pushing, pulling, or lifting for the duration of a shift
• Use hands and arms to operate tools, handle materials, and reach
• Regularly lift and carry 30–35 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
• Hearing necessary to perform job tasks safely and effectively
