Overview
High Country Industrial Corp. is seeking a Material Handler responsible for materials reception, management, preparation, staging, and reporting for production work cells. The role focuses on driving inventory management, materials reception and preparation, operational equipment maintenance, and consumables oversight to maximize value for operations production flow.
Duties and Responsibilities- Materials Preparation: Review production schedules one week or one day ahead and plan inventory reception, stocking, counts, and reporting to ensure production staff do not stock out of materials.
- Material Handling/Work Cell Stocking: Review work orders daily and pre-kit materials for work cell delivery directly to workstation prior to fabrication needs.
- Inventory Kanban System: Review, stock, and replenish all small parts and consumables using the inventory Kanban system.
- Equipment & Material Maintenance/Organization: Maintain production equipment to internal/ISO standards and improve material organization using Lean methodologies.
- Collaboration: Collaborate and partner with all production staff members.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement efforts regarding workflow and work cell organization.

Experience & BackgroundThis job is considered medium to heavy work in nature with occasional heavy tasks. Maximum lifting of up to 100 pounds with frequent lifting of weights up to 50 pounds. Typically standing and walking for 6 hours out of an 8-hour day. Task frequency varies with shift type, weather conditions, and indoor environment changes.
QualificationsMust Have (2 or more):
- 2+ years shipping/receiving and stocking experience in a production setting
- Current licensure for Forklift and Scissor lift
- Equipment maintenance knowledge
- Track record of supplying and/or creating reports for materials
- Direct production experience with role function examples
- Lean practice or exposure to Lean concepts
Technical Proficiency:
- Experience using material and count entry operating systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Word
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
Schedule options include 10-hour and 8-hour shifts, day shifts, with weekends as needed.
