Social Media & Graphic Design Specialist

Hours of Work:
Monday
- Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Screening will begin ASAP and continue until the position is filled. Start date to be determined, but as soon as practicable after the hiring/interview process.

Salary and Benefits:
This is a full-time, benefited Staff, S31 level position. Starting salary range: $53,839.00 - $65,953.00/annually, depending upon experience. JOB SUMMARY:

The Social Media & Graphic Design Specialist drives audience engagement, brand awareness, and organizational storytelling through strategic social media management and the creation of high-quality visual content. This position is responsible for developing and executing social media strategies, producing compelling graphic and multimedia content, supporting institutional marketing initiatives, and ensuring brand consistency across digital and print channels. The role collaborates with internal stakeholders to promote organizational priorities, strengthen brand visibility, and engage target audiences.

Social Media Strategy, Content Development & Channel Management
- Develop and execute strategic social media content that increases engagement, strengthens brand awareness, and supports organizational goals.

  • Develop and manage strategic social media content across institutional platforms, ensuring alignment with organizational messaging, brand standards, values, and priorities.
  • Create and oversee engaging multimedia content while maintaining an integrated content calendar that supports communication objectives, audience engagement, and brand awareness.
  • Optimize social media performance through data-driven content strategies, platform management, and audience engagement initiatives designed to maximize reach and effectiveness.
  • Monitor analytics, emerging trends, and industry best practices to continuously enhance content performance and strengthen the organization's digital presence.

Graphic Design & Visual Communications
- Create professional visual communications that support marketing, recruitment, engagement, and brand awareness initiatives.

  • Design and produce print and digital marketing materials, including brochures, advertisements, flyers, signage, presentations, publications, and social media graphics.
  • Develop creative concepts and visual assets for institutional campaigns and initiatives.
  • Ensure consistency with organizational branding, visual identity standards, and messaging guidelines.
  • Manage assigned design projects from concept through completion.
  • Maintain and organize design files, templates, and visual assets.

Stakeholder Partnership & Campaign Support
- Collaborate with internal departments and stakeholders to promote initiatives, events, and organizational priorities.

  • Partner with internal college departments to identify and develop content opportunities.
  • Support strategic marketing and communications campaigns through coordinated content creation and promotion.
  • Serve as a creative resource and advisor for social media and visual communications projects.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage trends, events, and institutional successes to increase visibility and engagement.

Analytics, Monitoring & Content Governance
- Measure performance, support continuous improvement, and maintain oversight of institutional social media presence.

  • Monitor and report on social media performance metrics and audience engagement.
  • Track institutional and departmental social media accounts to ensure alignment with branding and communication standards.
  • Provide recommendations based on analytics, trends, and performance data.
  • Monitor audience comments, messages, and interactions, escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Maintain social media guidelines, directory of college social media channels, content standards, and governance practices.
  • Identify opportunities for content sharing and cross-promotion among college social media channels.

Other responsibilities may be assigned based on contemporary institutional needs.
