The Donor Relations Coordinator manages a diverse group of donors and implements strategies to effectively recruit, cultivate, solicit, and steward partners. This position is responsible for building relationships with donors, increasing connection and support for VOA Northern Rockies, and working with the VOA Development Team to raise funds necessary for the organization’s budget through direct donor solicitation, events, corporate sponsorship, and smart giving.
EssentialFunctions
- Manage a portfolio of donors, making data-driven decisions to increase engagement and donor support of VOA and VOA Northern Rockies Foundation.
- Prepare and present regular donor relationship reports that accurately reflect assigned donor group activity, goals, and plans.
- Execute fundraising efforts including individual donors, peer‑to‑peer and event supporters.
- Enter data and updates into the Blackbaud database, including donor interactions, files, and other fields used to track donor engagement.
- Work within the established Fundraising Plan to retain and advance the commitment of donors for VOA and the VOA Northern Rockies Foundation.
- Manage constituents, processes, and deadlines while adhering to the organization’s policies and procedures.
- Assist with direct mail campaigns.
- Assist the Director of Development in department planning and execution of strategic goals.
- Represent VOA well in the community and with donors.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of VOA programs and be able to speak to the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
- Work with the Foundation, Grant, Communications, and Fundraising Teams to advance the organization with donors and stakeholders.
- Assist in coordination of regular tours across the region.
- Establish and cultivate relationships with sponsors.
- Effective communicator, both oral and written.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
- Ability to organize and prioritize large volumes of information and calls.
- Self‑motivated, innovative, with solid decision‑making skills.
- Comfortable in front of people and highly interactive with others.
- Comfortable with the full suite of Microsoft Office 365 products.
- Continuous demonstration of behaviors aligned with a posture of servant leadership and the organization’s cultural values.
The employee is regularly required to talk or listen, requires close vision and the ability to adjust focus, and performs duties such as lifting files, opening filing cabinets, bending, standing, or stooping as needed.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptops, photocopiers, and smartphones.
Position Type / Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full‑time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as needed.
TravelTravel is required to work with prospective and current donors, coordinate fundraising events, and support fundraising volunteers in various communities.
Required Qualifications and Experience- Two years of experience in development or a closely related field OR a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Education and Experience
- Certification in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge/NXT Database.
- More than three (3) years of progressive and responsible experience in fundraising.
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
